How do I correct a time entry?

Short answer

Choose Correct next to the time entry, change the times and give a reason. Employees do this under Week, managers under Timesheets. Nothing is overwritten: the original is kept and locked, and the correction is saved as a new version that needs approval.

As an Admin or Planner

  1. Open Timesheets and find the time entry.
  2. Choose Correct.
  3. Change the date, start, end or break.
  4. Write a reason that says why the entry is being corrected.
  5. Choose Save correction. The correction now waits under Approvals as a new version.

A corrected shift can be at most 36 hours long and cannot end in the future.

As an employee

Open Week, find the shift and choose Correct time entry. Change the times, give a reason and choose Save correction. This also works for a shift that has already been approved or rejected.

If an approval was a mistake

An Admin or a Payroll user can choose Undo approval under Timesheets and give a reason. The shift goes back to Awaiting approval. If the hours are already in a finalised export, make a correction instead.

Corrections are not silent. Who corrected, when, what the entry said before and the reason are kept in the audit trail. If the shift falls in a closed pay period, the period has to be reopened first.
