Comparison

Regsta and Planday — what can honestly be compared

Planday is an established Danish scheduling product. This page compares only what we could read in Planday's own public material on 8 August 2026, and states just as plainly where Planday is further ahead than we are.

How this page was made

  • Every point comes from a named page on planday.com or help.planday.com, read on 8 August 2026.
  • No prices are compared. No amount in kroner for any Planday plan was obtainable from the official material, and a guess does not belong on a comparison page.
  • Planday changes its product. The date is stated so you can see how old the reading is.
  • Regsta has no customers in production. There are therefore no customer counts, logos or testimonials on this page — including our own.

Four differences we can document

Free versus a trial

Planday

Planday's trial is 30 days on the Plus plan with no credit card. It ends automatically after 30 days, and trial data is deleted after a brief grace period if the account is not converted. The page describes no permanent free tier.

Regsta

Regsta's core is 0 DKK with no end date, no payment card and no automatic conversion to payment.

Certificates that expire

Planday

Planday's Skills — qualifications with expiry dates — is stated by the article as available on Plus, Pro or Enterprise.

Regsta

Regsta lets a company define its own certificate types with a warning window in the free core. Regsta says so before the certificate expires. Whether the person may still drive is decided by you and your overenskomst — Regsta does not block scheduling.

Closing and reopening a period

Planday

Locking a payroll period is stated by the article as a Plus, Pro or Enterprise capability, and the article states that you cannot unlock it later yourself — that requires contacting Planday.

Regsta

A Regsta administrator closes and reopens a period themselves, with a written reason. Both transitions are recorded in the audit trail. This is part of the free core.

API and integrations

Planday

Access to integrations and the API is listed as a Plus plan bullet on Planday's pricing page.

Regsta

Regsta's public API and signed webhooks are in the free core. Named integrations with Danish payroll systems are not built — see below.

Two things we chose not to build

GPS at punch-in

Planday's punch clock can require an employee to be inside a predefined workplace, otherwise they cannot punch in or out; the capability is optional, and Planday's documentation states the location access is used for punching. Regsta has no GPS, no geofence and no location trail. Our boundary on a shared device is the station's own credential and a personal PIN.

Rounding recorded time

Planday offers rounding rules on punch clock times. Regsta records the actual minute. A rounded record is a weaker document in a dispute with Arbejdstilsynet or a union than an exact one.

Where Planday is ahead of us

A comparison that only points one way is advertising. These are the places where Planday does something Regsta does not.

Danish payroll

Planday's Danish integrations page names Zenegy, VismaLøn, Salary, ProLøn, Microsoft Dynamics, Intect, DataLøn and Danløn. The Danløn integration is two-way, can import payslips back, and matches on CPR-nummer and lønnummer. Regsta has no payroll integration — we produce a neutral file.

The Danish ferielov

Planday models Danish accrued holiday directly: an accrual period from 1 September for 12 months, a consumption period from 1 September for 16 months, with configurable accrual and carry-over. Planday also models feriefridage. Regsta has neither holiday accounting nor balances.

Multi-factor authentication

Planday offers multi-factor authentication on any plan. Regsta does not have it yet. We require long passwords, reauthentication on change and immediate session revocation — but not MFA, and that is a real difference.

Source: help.planday.com — How does multi-factor authentication (MFA) work (2026-08-08)

Working-time warnings

Planday has configurable working time rules, and the article states that a rule cannot block a shift but raises a warning. That is the same logic as Regsta's. This is genuine parity, not a difference — ours simply also land in the inspection folder as evidence.

The Danish language

Planday is a Danish company with a Danish product and a Danish help centre. Danish localisation is not something we get to treat as an advantage.

The boundary of this page.

Everything stated about Planday was read in their own public material on 8 August 2026 and may have changed since. We have not had access to Planday's product, have not spoken to Planday's customers, and assert nothing about what Planday does that was not written on the page cited.
